Turn 20! nearly 2/3s of the way through!
I have to hand it DK, i thought he'd gone on the defencive but he gives us a masterclass in how to mess up a plt of enemy inf with minimal casualties.
Below DK has a line of troops around Owl, the white lines indicate area targets, thats 1 ft and two "use explosives".
This next sequence of shots show how differently troops can behave. First this team takes a facefull of fire, no casualties but they are only pinned, this one was close too! when i watched this through as the allies i thought he'd instantly routed them as they had a run order which caused them to run away a few seconds later, luckily for Owl!
Next this squad, simply pinned before the demo charge comes in
The demo charge detonates, but again causes no casualties but this time the squad instantly routs! Both squads are in command also.
This squad really suffers during this turn, full squad at the start, pinned but holding up.
The grenades fly in and they panic
And a demo charge finishes the job. The squad is down to 4 men, thats 5 casualties in 60 seconds.
And things just keep getting worse for owl, one of his StuGs gets bogged, it's gun facing away from the woods! It can still fire its turret MG at them but it has little ammo.
And it gets immobilised! The ground is only damp not wet, and the StuG gets immobilised within one turn, how unlucky! It is just typical of this game to immobilise one of your much needed HE chuckers with its gun facing away from where you need it.
