Turn-26

One of DKs zooks gets a hit on this HT shocking it. It soon reverses off.

DK fires his mortar in the general direction of a plt of DKs inf but causes no casualties.

Owl targets the house with DKs FT in it but he has inf too close for it and it doesn't fire its main gun and its MG doesn't seem to bother DKs FT.

Turn 27 i'm finally up to date! and we're nearly up to 1000 views thats an average of 37 views per turn, not bad :)

Dk moves his sherman up a few meters and it spots a halftrack.

It fires and scores a kill

Owl assualts a squad across this road but the fire is too heavy and the squad panics.

Dks flamethrower opens up and breaks one squad and routs the other.

And due to the friendly map edges being wrong they run straight for the americans in the woods.

Owl is moving some armor out of the town square, 2 HTs and a StuH, he area fires with the other StuH and hunts it forward but it only gets one round off as it can't fire while moving and it causes no damage.

I'm really enjoying this DAR Joony. It's very informative seeing how 2 veteran CMers play the game. I find it particularly enlightening how the psychological aspect of H2H play comes into effect. For quite a few turns DKs right force has been held-up by 1 platoon of Owl's infantry - DK seems to think he is facing much more than that. As well, DK was at one point thinking he was doomed, but as we are seeing now is doing much better than he thinks!

On DKs right its not even a plt holding him up, its a section HQ a plt HQ down to 2 men and an LMG team with low ammo, and 2 JgPz i think DK will kick himself hard when he sees the end file!

I see this happen all the time as I am sure most other players do as well. Just when you figure that your opponent has the best of you, he lets up for some reason and in time you are able to shore things up and get out of trouble. I am sure that I have done it as well as many other players out there. Why do you all think that this seems to happen regularly?

The friendly map edges being incorrect is a major problem. Who is to say how that has effected the players strategy. I am surprised that they didn't restart once they discovered the problem.

I actually discovered the friendly map edges problem before the game started, as far as I am aware there is no way to rectify this without swapping the start up zones around. Both players seemed happy with this arrangement however.

Ok after short break DK and Owl have been hard at it and are a few turns ahead of me again, they may have even finished it, they are certainly close.

Turn 28

Owls routing units run straight at a Plt of DKs inf.

One squad makes it to the woods and promptly surrenders without taking further casualties, the other squad isn't so lucky and is mercilessly wiped out.

Here we see how edgy troops can get if you tell them to withdraw.

This squad was pinned but given the withdraw order runs back.

But as the fire comes in on surrounding squads the squad panics despite not taking any casualties and not being directly targeted.

After deciding he couldn't push into the woods owl consolidates his position around the town square, he's leaving it fairly open for DK to be able to get his inf into those light buildings.

Doesn't look like DK has enough on this edge of the woods to make a push for the town square, he is however getting 2 squads round the back of that immob StuG.
