No text for quick battle

Getting this:

when trying to play with the quick battle setup in CMBB and CMAK. CMBO works fine. I tried the Radeon white text patch but that didn't help. I am using an ATI X1950PRO on XP SP 2.

I have also noticed that quite often at end turn the email window is blank until I click on it.

Both patched to latest version (1.3 and 1.12).

Ok, I guess it is a catalyst problem, ALT-TAB out and back in brings the text up. Anyone know of a fix?

I found that not using the latest ATI drivers worked better for me. I have a HD2600X and use an older driver that I found and now have no problems other then the white text box issue which is fixible with a .bmp file swap found in the Tech. section here.

This is because of ATI video cards I believe. I had the same problem. You can either Atl-Tab to show text but you may have the sameproblem in the game not seing the text.

There is a patch you can find the database of battlefront.ca , its .bmp file that you copy in your bmp folder of the game.

If you mean the white text on white bmp patch I did that already, no joy. So far only ALT-TAB works but I am afraid I may crash the game if it ever happens in a PBEM. I am not sure how the PBEM security is in CM, but I don't want to risk raising eye brows.

I found the ALT-TAB fix by Googling the problem, but no fixes.

Did you try disabling the Anti-Aliasing feature from your video card? Do you have an ATI video card?

Nope, didn't try the AA thing, will give it a go. And yes, an X1950 pro.

Well that didn't work!!! Turned off AA and now I get no text on anything, going to try with AA on max settings since it is currently set to adaptive.

That was even worse...guess I will leave it at default.
