RE: SPWW2 3.5 single battle anyone?
Hi Gila.
Sorry, I am not free to battle.
Just a suggestion, there is a new patch for ww2.
Ver 4.0 was released a short while ago.
You may want to upgrade if you have no games going currently.
Here are some forum threads relating to the patch.
Cheers

OK, cool, just making sure you were up with the play.
Obviously, you were
You know you can run multiple installs of SPCAMO games?
I have three versions of ww2 and one of MBT up and running at the moment.
It is a pain having to wait to upgrade...but why wait when you can have a 3.5 and a 4.0 up at the same time :whis:
If you have any questions re. sorting that out, fire away.
Otherwise...good luck with your hunt for a battle.

I might do that,
Maybe something about timed explosives and buried gas drums that will explode in your face in the hands of a human opponent is..well kinda wicked

Hi Gila
I actually quite like the idea of these new features / units...but have yet to use them.
You can always make an agreement with your opponent not to use these new things during your battle.

Walrus,
Those would be something that should be considered to put on the no-no list on PBEM play IMHO.
Defiantly would make chokepoints and roads more dangerous!
Timed explosives on a bridge would be interesting.
One new change i like is, armour no longer changes it's facing up to 180 degrees after being fired upon if i'm correct??

Hi Gila,
I hadn't heard that. Perhaps you mean this new feature:
5) When tanks turn their hulls to face an enemy firing they no longer turn the hulls directly 90 degrees which generally increases their chance of survival by increasing the angle of attack for the shell.
Tanks turn to face the enemy, but now at about 20 degrees off, which means AP rounds won't hammer into the flat front at 0 degrees.
As for the new explosives class. I think their cost will keep them from being too effective, or over used in PBEM (ie. You can buy a more effective ATk gun for the same price). But I think they are great to use for fun, and will be perfect for some scenarios. I have: "No more than 2 explosives per Engineer platoon purchased", in my PBEM prefs, until I've fugured out just how dangerous they are.

In my view they are not that dangerous at least to vehicles, generaly missing & attacking the hex rather than the actual vehicle. Can be nasty vs infantry particulary if it does hit them. More an ambush weapon pinning a few units then you attack, because of this & cost people will not go mad buying them. Mines are better vs vehicles these are better vs infantry but very expensive, more a fun toy scenerio tool.
