Here are a few screenshots for the Operation Compass mod that I'm currently working on.
Operation Compass is Volcano Man's expansion mod for Panzer Campaigns Alamein.
The mod should be ready for release sometime next week.
For those not familiar with my work, I have three series of mods that all look pretty much like this (North Africa, Eastern Europe, and WW I).
My mods are in the growing stage so there are still a lot of updates. Best place to see what I've done is to go to the Panzer Campaigns section of the GameSquad forum here:
http://forums.gamesquad.com/forumdisplay...d3f98b25de
The individual threads there link to the latest versions as well as to everything else you'll need to install the mod (latest HPS patch, latest Volcano Man mod, latest MapMod).
Mods are currently available for France: 1914, Budapest, Kursk, Minsk, Stalingrad, Tobruk, and Alamein (without Operation Compass).
The mods rely on Volcano Man's graphics and certain parts of Jison's Mapmod, which is why my mod has to be added on after theirs.
The mods all feature parchement-like textured terrain for zoomed-in and zoomed-out views, map symbols integrated into the map, repainted counters, and national flags added on to the unit images whenever it won't create a conflict.
The mods are individually hosted at the Scenario Design Center, and at some point later this year or early next will have their own section (which will presumably be separate from my Napoleonic mods section). As things stand every time something changes in one of them (which usually triggers changes in the others), I have to scramble around adjusting addresses in a whole host of posts at the Wargamer and at GameSquad.
These mods also include the first halting steps towards modding the 3-D portions of the game, though I have no intention of even thinking about doing that until I finish the series (i.e. ain't gonna be this year).
I always include lots of alternate choices that will work, since some people hate flat flags and others will fiend my counter color choices a bit too weird, traditionalist, and old fashioned (I'm in to uniform colors, which can lead to some odd situations).
And for the avoidance of doubt, these are graphics mods only. So it will make no difference in a pbem game if one player is using them and another is not.
And yes, I scramble around a lot whenever Volcano Man comes out with an update.
History is a bad joke played by the living on the dead.
