Modern Wars - Part of CS Ladder or not?

Modern Wars - Part of CS Ladder or not?
I had a look at the people who've participated in the CS Ladder in 2010. Bootcamp included, we are a community of some 200 gamers.

While I am greatly anticipating the upcoming Modern Wars -games, here's a thought: should Modern Wars be a community of its own?

Pros:
- A totally different time period
- According to Jason's post at Matrix forums, it will be familiar but require totally different tactics, adaptation is required.

Cons:
- Well, it is the same JTCS engine, albeit tweaked a lot
- I would hate to see this community become smaller. Rather, I would like to see Modern Wars bringing more players instead.

Your thoughts?

cheers

Cons:

- I would hate to see this community become smaller. Rather, I would like to see Modern Wars bringing more players instead. ABSOLUTELY!!!

Your thoughts?

I score you 3 CON to 1 PRO, Petri. Your last point about the size of our community is the most important. We need to grow.

If the scenarios are relatively similar in sizes and can be uploaded using the CS format, it is fine by me. Toast

I guess I am just a purist. My inclination is to keep them separate. But no biggy either way.

Basically it is the same CS system just a differnt time period. Some of the time periods will be very similar (1945 to 1955) and some much different (1955+).

The Panzer campaigns ladder has numer different games including WW1 and Modern all on the same ladder because it is the Panzer Campaign game engine.

I also believe that Squad Battles and Steel Panthers also cover a variety of time periods.

Base it on the game engine. It belongs here as another title.

Thanx!

Hawk

I like Rod's point. We need to grow. Keep 'em together.
