Welcome aboard.
While there may be a few players that still play with the original discs, many have moved to the John Tillers Campaign Series:

That game includes West Front, East Front and Rising Sun.
Hope that helps!

Cool. Well it seems as though my version of Rising Sun isn't pbem compatible with the Matrix release?
Is there a Rising Sun update I can apply that will allow our versions to mix?

The original game and new game are not PBEM compatible.

RE: Rising Sun
While the same game in essence, the new version has had a large number of additions:
Rising Sun
Fully functional Map, OOB and Scenario Editors!
60 Scenarios!
6 Linked Campaigns!
New Scenarios:
1. Long Son Eastern Advance (French vs Japanese)
2. Another Page for the History Books (French vs Japanese)
3. Yang Dang Khum (French vs Thai)
New Countries:
French Indochina
Netherlands East Indies
Thailand
Nationalist China (KTM)
Allied Communist China
Axis Communist China
Axis Soviet Union
Allied Soviet Union
New Units Types:
Many new armour, artillery, and infantry and other units for Axis and Allies including captured armour, artillery and vehicles.
Trains for Chinese, Japanese, French and Russians
Ship types; Sampans, Junks, Gunboats, River Patrol Ships
Pack Animals
Observation Aircraft (Piper Cub) for Americans and British
Changes:
OOB editor has been expanded from 1930-1953.
OOB structures have been added for the Japanese forces in China and the Southern Army in 1941-42.
A Map editor that you can create maps from all five climate zones (NEW, MED, DES, TRO and TEM)
Horses can be moved unmounted!
Mounted Cavalry and motorcyclists can fire on the move!
And this does not include the additions up to and including the 1.04 UPDATE.
Plus, it is supported and comes with the other two expanded games.
It really is a bargain.

RE: Rising Sun
Yeah, worth the $$, especially considering that it's going to be updated from time to time and the talonsoft versions are dead. Plus it's completely compatible with the new operating systems (with a possible tweak or two).

Splurge. With the download version we could be playing today!
