RE: SP3
Hello Jeffmac..

not likely.. I still have the game on CD.. I've tried to load it on Win-XP-SP3.. and it doesn't work well - actually, not at all.... main issue is the graphics and the DOS code.. the hardware the we use now are far beyond what is imbedded in SP3.

WinMBT/WinWW2 are so far advanced/enhanced over SP3 that I doubt I would even play the SP3 game.. even if it did work on my computer. Last time SP3 worked for me was when I had an even older machine and was still using Win98SE..

SPWAW uses the SP3 game engine, but when Matrix released it back in 2000, they upgraded things to use DirectX and the AC codec's for sound, so it still works.. but the 800x600 display that it's locked into while better than the original 640x480 is real grainy on monitors larger than about 17 inch..

I can't imagine what the 640/480 of SP3 would look like.. well maybe I could find out.. I could set WW2 to run full screen in 640/480 mode.. :)

If you want the CD, shoot me an e-mail with your address.. if not too expensive, I'll send it to you for free (I think I know where the Cd is - I'm a software pack-rat).. then you won't have to hunt for a download.

Cheers!

RE: SP3
I've downloaded Dosbox. Am I wrong but won't this program make it work?
This game was my intro to Steel Panthers and I guess I'm being a little bit nastolgic.

RE: SP3
I think it will do the trick, I've been successful with several old time games with dosbox.

RE: SP3
I've been playing SP3 lately in Boxer (the version of DOSBox that runs on Mac OSX). Runs perfectly.

RE: SP3
Maybe I am getting old.. probably so, I have to have my kids show me how to use the DVD/TV remotes now-days :)

but if you still want the CD.. I'll be glad to send it out to you

RE: SP3
Anyone know if SP3 runs on Windows 7?

I think SP3 is a great candidate for GOG to release it (along with getting it to run on new systems).

I have the CD as well, still couldn't get to work even with Dosbox, If you can get the game to install it might work with Dosbox, my problem was I couldn't even get the game to install
