Rising Sun problem

I have the John Tiller Campaign Series games and I can not start the Rising Sun portion of the of the game. East Front and West Front work fine. When I try to start Rising Sun I get an error message saying that the rising sun.exe file is from an unknown publisher. If I allow it to start the main menu screen appears but it looks odd as the colors are off. I can select a scenario but when it loads the mapscreen is completely white.

I have tried to uninstall and reinstall the series on a number of occasions but the problem still persists.

I suppose that I can live without Rising Sun working as I don't play it very much but it would be nice if it worked.

What's your operating system? Have you tried a clean reinstall? Game's patched?

You don't have the "old" version of RS installed in the same area you do? I suspect that might cause some problems. If not, you might have to save all your personal files and try to reinstall.

I was going to say that my only problem with Rising Sun was that it exists; but I won't. Because I'm not a wise ass.

Thanks for the link. I found out what was causing the funky graphics, I had the rs.exe file set for compatablity to run in 256 color mode. I deleted that setting and the colors and game load correctly. I still get a message that the rs.exe file is from an unknown publisher but I can live with that if the scenarios load and the game works OK.

I am using Windows 7 32 bit and yes I tried a clean reinstall but never did any of the patches as the file still did not work.

Well at least it works. Maybe the patches will fix the unknown publisher thing.
