What do you use for software? I was trying to use Debut video capture but I get black video recording with only the mouse pointer visible.

I used Fraps to capture the videos.It's shareware,but it will allow you to take 30 seconds movies in the non-registered form.
You'll also need a software like Virtual Dub to compress the video stream,if you plan to upload it to youtube- as the original fraps video is pretty much uncompressed thus it's huge in size.
