SPH2H/SPWaW8.403
Hey,

Does anyone play H2H or WaW8.403 versions anymore? I have taken a long break and would be interested to put up a little battle now if anyone is interested...it seems nearly all play SPWW2 now, for some reason I never liked it. Am I the only one?

Cheers, :Submarine:

Out of curiosity. What are the reasons that you do not like winspww2?
I do not like SPWaW graphics.

I don´t remember anymore. I deleted the game over a year ago so I cannot check it...perhaps the main reason is my twisted Finnish character?! :chin:

Having seen some screencaps of WW2 it looks nice, but also H2H nice enough for me.

It was superb C&C, armor penetration, adjustable start lines, quicker battles for me just to mention few but unfortunately I haven't been able to run WaW series anymore.

The thing that most botherd me with WaW,was the capability of armour repairing/getting unstuck ect. within the time frame of a battle, never set well with me.

Also with WinspWW2 and MBT,the developers still work to improve thier version to this day, and onward.

If you play WaW I highly recommend you install the 'Enhanced' mod which can be found here:

http://spwaw.com/phpBB2/index.php?sid=f3...pc_t=70747

Enhanced is today what H2H was back in 2002-2004.

I have both SPWW2 and SPWaW installed on my PC. Play both and see which you like.

I've found that SPWW2 is better than WaW in most ways.

cheers

RE: SPH2H/SPWaW8.403
Notwitstanding PBEM and WINSPWW2 Opportunity Fire filter system, IMHO two advantages that still SPWAW has over WINSPWW2 are online play and manual selective oportunity fire.

The bad thing is that SPWAW has being basically scrapped for years (reason why graphics have not been upgraded for higher resolutions) unlike SPWW2 and SPMBT which have gone thru constant development.

A good analogy for explaining what happened to SPWAW and SPWW2 is the recent theory that Homo Sapiens wiped out the Neanderthal species thru conflict. Big Grin

Huh! Luckily Iḿ not the only one still playing this version. I have enough opponents for now. Thanks to all those who replied/were interested!

RE: SPH2H/SPWaW8.403
I loved SPWAW....However, the fact is, SPWAW is a game with no future. It is no longer being developed and technology has passed it. It's stuck at 800 x 600 resolution. Bugs will never be fixed. SPWAW has a few realistic features I really like that SPWW2 doesn't have, but other than that every other aspect WinSPWW2 is much better and that with the new features WinSPWW2 has going for it with continuous developments and regular updates means SPWAW doesn't have a chance.
