Map Editor
Awhile back there was a discussion about the map editor not working properly and in my case every thing was shaded out in green and you could not see any numbers when you wanted to design a new map. Well maybe 2 months ago, I really couldn’t tell you, my map editor works perfectly now except for when I scroll the map and it becomes distorted but can be fixed with a click of the mouse. But besides that, the map editor works perfectly now (maybe because of a windows update) but with a trade off, I can no longer design a scenario where the water is frozen. I can do everything else but frozen water, like snow on the ground, trees etc, but no frozen water.
Any feedback?
Joe

RE: Map Editor
I believe the problems are not related.
To get rid of distortion, you need to tamper with the properties of each executable in question (map, scn and oob editors), and to choose the "Disable desktop composition" option.
For more discussion pls see: https://www.theblitz.club/message_boards...=windows+7
As for the resolution for frozen water I unfortunately have no idea ...
To add to my previous post, obviously you need to only set the properties of Map editor executable to disable Desktop composition. The peculiarity of this is that the same map works just perfectly in a scenario editor and within the game itself... Seems to be a Windows 7 feature.

RE: Map Editor
Hi Troll,
If we are on the same page, do this:
Go to edit scenario. Select your scenario.
In the tool bar at the top of the screen, next to "file" is a button that says " scenario".
When you click that you will see:
Header
Conditions
Description
Airplanes
Display File Names
Click on "conditions". The second column allows you to select water "Frozen".
Have you been there?

The conditions are set in the scenario file, not the map file. What happens when you open an existing scenario (WF or EF)?
As for the map what climate/area are you using? In some of them "frozen" is greyed out. In the map file the conditions are for viewing only and are not saved there

In the first part I did tell him to access the edit scenario function.
The second part sound like it might be the issue. He said the "conditions" area was not accessible.
