Wagram Update
The Wagram update is being tested by Rich Hamilton's team. I got it off to John Tiller over the weekend and Rich's guys are giving it a look. You can help in the process if you like by contacting him to become a tester. He will send you to where you can get the link and download the file.

Here is a short list of changes:

1. Restoration of the Austrian regimental names as per Eckmuhl.

2. Reduction of morale grades for most troops.

3. PDF files brought up to ver. 13. This means that Army, Wing and Corps commanders at Wagram now will have realistic command ranges. Napoleon will still have the edge in that he has the interior lines but he will not be able to command every corps commander on the map. One of them is undoubtedly going to be out of range.

4. I updated some of the graphics numbering in the OB files with the help of Philippe Divine and Warren Bajan. In the end I went with what I felt was best so if you see some changes you like do not blame them.

5. The Vienna map was updated. Frankly I am a bit embarrassed to say this but there were roads that lead nowhere on the map. I think that it was never mentioned because so few scenarios use the entire map. The roads just broke off and ended abruptly. I connected them as best I could to complete the map. Also I corrected some minor road errors where a road section was accidentally placed on the map. Also - all or most of the villages now have roads leading through them. Also - Vienna was filled out more. I ran out of time or I would have added in more of the suburbs. I used period maps to help complete what I could of the map. A later update will have a more complete version.

6. All dragoon regiments (not light dragoons) are now listed as "D" type. This means that instead of getting a +25 percent in combat they get +10 percent instead. They can dismount but frankly this was done very rarely. As they have no fire weapon it does not server much purpose in dismounting them and players should discuss prior to play if they will allow the dismounting of dragoons. THE "D" TYPE CHANGE WAS MAINLY DONE TO PLACE THEM IN THEIR OWN "MEDIUM" CAVALRY TYPE. This way Cuirassiers and other heavy cavalry are distinguished properly from them. (fight over this one all you want - my mind is made up on it - just make up a copy of the OB file if you want to change it ...)

Finally, I will have my own MOD out after the update is released that will add in new or modified artwork for these units:

1. Hesse-Darmstadt - they will be wearing the bicorne in both Units and 3D images. The Musketeers have a blue coat and the Fusiliers a green coat. Also: the naming of the units in the H-D division of IV Corps changed. The units use their historical names based on John Gill's works rather than Bowden's names from "Armies of the Danube."

2. Tir. du Po - these now have a French Legere style uniform with green plume per the Histofix website plate. Both Units and 3D pics are new.

3. Tir. du Corse - so far I am using a similar uniform as per the Tir. du Po but I may change back to the original pics. The plates on the Histofix site and others seem to conflict. The pics we have been using are of the Grenadier company. But if you check other references they show the brown uniform so its kind of a crap shoot.

4. French Legere will have TWO 3D icons and they BOTH will have blue (not green) coats.

5. Italian Legere will use correct pictures.

Other changes were made as well. My first version will not be complete but will remedy much of the errors that were in the game. My next ver. of the module will include a "one for one" Units.bmp and 3D pictures for ALL units in the game. No more sharing of the 3D pics.

My OBs will have the same unit values as the ones in the Wagram 1.09 update so you can use them with confidence. No game values will be changed.

However, the graphics will be different. In some cases they overwrite the "stock" artwork and would not work with the older image mapping. The idea was to correct some of the errors in the stock artwork and render each unit with its own artwork.

The update should be out in a month or so. Eckmuhl is up next followed by Jena and Austerlitz. Please do not pester Rich H. about when these will be out. As my mom used to say, "dinner will be ready when its ready!" Big Laugh
