Gents: Smoke7

John suggested in his "Medic unit" thread that a poll should be setup to allow a larger number of players to vote on his proposal.

I think it's a good idea to get more player input! Smile

So... vote already! Wink

I voted no, because his would effect the game.

I would have voted yes if it was just another unit.

cheers

A no from me, medics I always assume are part of the higher HQ unit structure.

I think leaders do the job with moral perfectly well as it is and I tend to stack mine with units to use the bonuses they can give, yes I may loss a bit of command and control range but thats the choice I take as I know I can't a have cake and eat it. 2Cents

From me a clear YES!

I accept and understand most of the named opinions. But there are more ways possible.

NO for medical units that affect moral. If the game engine was not designed for that, using moral "as if" it is physical health seems to me too tricky and complicated. There is no need for that in my opinion. You want to make such a change? Improve the game engine.

Ah, you did what I should have done from the beginning kool cat - start a poll! Big Grin

I probably would have added a third option in the poll - are medical units ok IF they don't have any special abilities (in this case, affecting morale)? I think more people probably would have signed off on that idea. The whole morale influence 'thing' seems to have scared some folks away. On the other hand, I just could not propose the idea of medics in the JTCS without special abilities of some kind, but of course it had to be done within the limitations of the game engine...thus, the morale boost idea.

Based on the early results of this poll, it's possible that non-morale affecting medics could appear in the future I suppose...but it looks like they'd be mere 'window dressing' units with no real function (except more unit variety and victory points, which is still cool).
Thus, what is of supreme importance in war is to attack the enemy's strategy.
