Matrix v. Talonsoft

Sorry I haven't been on the Blitz in a while so I'm sure this has been asked before.

I own all the old Talonsoft Campaign Series games, including all the expansions. Does this mean I can only play people who have the old games and not the people who use the Matrix edition of the Campaign Series? Do people still play the old games, or has everyone switched over?

There are still some that play the older Talonsoft version; however, I think most folks have transitioned to the Matrix edition. These version are not compatible with each other. So, when requesting a game, you'll have to be clear you are looking for Talonsoft version and not Matrix version.

There are many advantages to switching over to the Matrix version of JTCS! Smile

All three theaters (EF2, WF, and RS) are combined on one CD-ROM. Many new countries order of battles, new units, and additional optional rules. The game loads onto your hard disk drive, so you don't run it from a CD-ROM.

Also, as Jim mentioned, most players have transitioned over to Matrix. You will have a better chance of finding PBeM opponents with Matrix editions versus Talonsoft. Helmet Smile
