Abandoned Guns, Dismounted tanks
Is there a trick to get the crews to service their weapons again?

Not guns, but you can order dismounted crews to get back on their tank once they are no longer panicked. Just issue a move command as you would do to board a truck. It won't let you if the crew is below the minimum to operate the vehicle, if I recall correctly.

No,abandoned/dismounted AT guns can't be recrewed ,even if the the original crew is intact. I might be wrong about this, but i think it was a BFC design choice.

On the other hand, dismounted tanks can be recrewed, but only by the original crew.

RE: Abandoned Guns, Dismounted tanks
I think it has to do with the below statement from this thread:

http://www.battlefront.com/community/sho...335&page=4

Quote:Vehicles are their own entities and can exist without any crew at all. Guns are basically infantry units with a big weapon. One does not exist without the other, in game engine terms. There are programming reasons why it is this way. Could they be worked around? Yes, of course. With enough time and effort they could be. But then this gets us to the question of if that's a good use of our time. Because not only would we have to get the physical capability coded into the game, but we'd also have to test out various ways to combat gamey behavior.

Since abandoning a weapon should be done only in extreme emergencies, and often in real life would mean disabling the weapon before leaving (grenade down or up the spout), we felt the best thing to do is make abandonment permanent.
