RE: Whats next???
A suggestion and a question.
One thing I think is very poor graphics-wise is the magnified 2D view. These should be easier to improve in terms of quality?
Will the new Panzer Battles series have the same interface and basic engine that requires a lot of manual firing as SQB and TOC?
Thanks,
Gerry

RE: Whats next???
Nice, ninja prize, next time i see under my bed to know if it is hide there
"One of the titles teased here" ummm them the images are from 2 different games... ok, units image sure are from PzB but the map image... i see it better now (curious in my phone) and yes, is not like the map images i see in... wargamer??? i dont know if this is a piece of disinformation but intrigue me
And we can see at least one of the new titles in a point between end 2013 and end of 2014 well, its something, not bad for a JT title at least we know it exist
Well, i think that a new thread is a good idea but is not other way to tease??? if one is PzB is not really a TOC is more a TTC (change operational for tactical) hehehe but yes, i think all the official info needs be separate in a new thread maybe this is one of the things i like less from JT games many times find information about them is like an archeology work in the web
Other thing you can do is if the info is official upload it in JT web, as a notice at least if you dont want move images to the serie section to preserve secret and fans surprise (i have now the image of a fat red guy leaving a JT title under a tree )
About new engine... maybe in PzB i am more interested in how works isolated rule (if is present), i refer that one of the "weak" points for me in PzC/MC is this, an unit in combat dont be low ammo 1-2 hours after be isolated and in a lower level with turns of... 15-30 minutes is more strange, rest of questions about new engine is more in performance, if now time you wait between shoot order and result over map is shorter and if when you see enemy turn is faster see it because things that are out of your view dont slow down turn resolution.
Cant wait to see more info to made time to new game/games pass fast.
PD: other great thing could be finally give support to team games in PBEM not only in direct play.

RE: Whats next???
Hmm, the second teaser puzzles me.
The 1st Panzer-Auf. company of the LSSAH that went to Normandy didn't have vehicles aside from a handful of Schwimmwagens and motorcycles as far as I know, not Kuebelwagens like they have on the screenshot/their equipment when still a regular PzG division. They were supposed to have halftracks or armoured cars after converting to a Panzer Aufklaerung battalion, but according to one source they didn't see any action at all as a company (not even in Normandy) as only bits and pieces were committed due to vehicle shortages.
It seems "Panzer-" is not always added when a unit designation has changed, as for example in Budapest '45 Wiking's recon is also simply indicated as "Aufklaerungs Abt" and not "Panzer-Aufklaerungs Abt"
Zhitomir would probably be the one I'd enjoy most, but the camouflage patterns would only be suitable for autumn or spring (winter arrived fairly late in the Ukraine near Kiev in 1943, there was mostly rain and mud until late December) so a lengthy campaign might be tricky, also because it would need to cover something like 3 months from early November to February for the fighting next to the Dnepr. A battalion level game for the battle of Zhitomir (and possibly also the Soviet Christmas offensive and advance to Vinnitsa later on?) would be awesome, as it's rarely covered.
Spring Awakening's less likely as the equipment depicted in the screenshots is mid-war. No halftracks or armoured cars for the recon unit and an early model Tiger.
There's already a game covering Salerno, so it's also unlikely that it's from a hypothetical scenario for that.
Spring Awakening/Balaton/invasion of Austria could be interesting as well, but the Soviets might be too strong to make that enjoyable, particularly if the game doesn't allow the generous refitting that other PzC games tend to offer.

RE: Whats next???
Maybe Prokhorovka??? 13rd company equiped with Tigers... for a serie called "Panzer Battles" start with Citadel is a good presentation... east front + Panzers on their best moment before the fall but you cant discard the trinity of wargames, Normandy-Market garden-Bulge hehehe.
The other options are good to, later battles with germans fighting until the last moment, well at least we can discard the other WWII classic, North Afrika.
Maybe my main ??? is about the map image, it looks to urban to be east front, maybe is a west front title... or to be more imaginative could be something modern... i remember a guy that say something about a modern version of PzB, i read it in wargamer i think... maybe is a tease of the PzB "son"??? "Modern Tank Battles" MTB??? ok i find it, a guy from this forum talks about "Armor Battles" as the Modern version of "Panzer Battles", but in general the map image remember me a lot "Steel Panthers" but with more realistic urban terrain.
A little thing, i see more images and find is hard see the full name of units in unitname bmp... is possible made it longer???
Thanks.

RE: Whats next???
I'm actually sort of afraid it will be a platoon/company scale Zitadelle game, which though interesting would yet again cover a part of the war that virtually every wargame designer has covered. That's why I'd be more excited about the battles west of the Dnepr in the Ukraine: aside from Korsun Pocket, those are not often covered, yet they offer fluid tank/panzer battles.

RE: Whats next???
First time I did not pay attention, but in second image we can see Georg Schonberger, who became the commander of the 1st Panzer Regiment LSSAH in October 1943 and died 20 November 1943 near Zhitomir. I guess it's a little hint for us )). Now I have almost no doubt that the next Panzer Campaign title would cover Battle of Kiev in 1943 and may be called Kiev 43.
Also interesting, that the teaser was posted 13 november in 70 year anniversary ending of Kiev offensive operation.

RE: Whats next???
Well, i dont like a lot to Zitadelle i prefer something more original and more open... but sell a game that covers the "bigest tank battle in WWII" is a good promotion and there are more info avaliable.
Late war battles are interesting by 2 ways, not overexploited and situations for all tastes.
I am interested in the serie and i am going to give it an opportunity even if i visit one more time Normandy, the great unknown battle
Ummm Kiev 43... could be, expect we dont need wait a lot to know what are the 2 ultrasecret games ... well, we can wait some heroes that pass the iron curtain with information

I don't think any one project teams' guys can answer that question (one project group is not going to know all that much about what is going on in another project -it is compartmentalized that way) ; all that being said I know of at least one other title in another series that will.
