Opponent Wanted  PBEM Please!
Ok, back up and running (sort of). Would like to play Yanks or Krauts. Can do 1 move per day. Not yet ready to set up the game, but can handle it after that. Scenario, campaign, or one-off with points and rules of your choosing (3000 pts or less please until I get out of boot camp). Thanks for considering playing me!

best, Mike, Jax, FL

Hi Mike; things are pretty quiet in the SP world these days, there is a tournament running right now that could probably take you in, check the top of the forum.

That tourney might be a little much. Max units, large maps. Lots of modern gear.
If you just want something to get out of bootcamp, I might be up for that.
What is your posion? I have SPMBT and WW2 installed and up to date. No SPWAW for me.
Set up isn't a problem for me. I like doing it. I make my standard rookie offer. If I win, it's a draw. If you win, it is what it is. If you are a re-entry, not a rookie, check with Weasel. He knows majic and can spring you from bootcamp.

Hi. I'm playing a game with Uncas PBEM. I did not offer to mentor me but I can do it.
If Uncas does not accept the result will be what?

RE: PBEM Please!
I'm completely new to PBEM. I hadn't played SPWW2 for several years but came back to it recently. When I did play I only played the AI but I got to the point I was playing the long campaigns on my own. I'm slowly but steadily remembering how everything works and what NOT to do (zoom your tanks full blast toward the unknown).

So I'd like to play SPWW2, conditions of your choosing. As long as I'm US or Germans I know the units fairly well, can handle arty and air support, use engineers, set up fortifications, etc. Right now I'm playing a game and we started with I think 2800 points, I could go higher than that if needed. I can def handle two games at once and move at least once per day. We've been playing for three days and have been moving two to three times per day each so far.

It doesn't have to be a mentor game. I don't mind losing right now. I learn from my mistakes.

So if you're up for some WW2, let me know. I appreciate it.

best, MD

Yes. Not sure if he is a rookie or not. When I set up a mentor game, I set up for a draw and a lesson. The lesson is that Humans are NOT programs. I try to build in a trap or two. The program will not set up an ambush nor play for a draw.
I have always felt the difference between a human opponent and the program makes a good first lesson for entering the world of PBEM.
Waiting for the kill box to fill up before starting the slaughter or retreating from the hexes then using stay behinds to recapture them is a good way to make that point.
Yet I feel guilty (sharkish?) about doing that stuff to a rookie.

So you are not really a rookie, having been to the drive-in once. Kewl. Be a nice change from Vesku, who is re-programming my sneaky algorithem right now.
E-mail me at [[email protected]] and we will work out the details. Not hard for me, WW2 doesn't have ICM nor certain other weapons that dominate the battlefield. I will put on my forage hat and channel Jadpanther with the Soviets. You pick the year-month.
