Woo-hoo, game on!

I flipped a coin, Dan you'll be on Side A playing Allied, while Mark you'll be playing Axis. I am sending you to Wycyczny 1939.

Email sent! Salute

RE: Forgotten Battles Tournament
Wytyczno 1939...

Interesting scenario...

Finished the game by doing twice the damage as my opponent, I owned the field at the end, I possessed every objective on the map...and suffered a Major Defeat...

Perhaps it's just me, but I think the designer needs to take another look at this one.

If the Polish player chooses not to fight, he can't be beaten...not a good set up for quality game action...

RE: Forgotten Battles Tournament
Thanks for those comments dawags! I will forward them to the scenario designer. I am ever so slowly fighthing this same scenario out with Warhorse, but it is early days to say anything about the balance.

As for the next round, I will send you guys to Winter War, where Metal Gods await to clash at human kind. I will set you against the Tournament newbies, if I manage to contact them next.

I will put a scenario introduction here once we are ready to go.

All rules = ON.

I've played this many times over with Hawk Kriegsman, and it should be pretty well balanced in its current form.

Finns: movement factor alike the proverbial bat out of hell. Hit hard, surround + capture according to their tactics, but stage a static war at your peril.

Soviets: like a heavy weight boxer, takes time to get the orientation, but once those punches come you better get out of the way. Still, lapses of concentration can be dangerous, and any isolated units run a risk for vanishing into dark winter without a trace.

Edit: Make sure to enable the Scandinavian Terrain mod for the duration of game play for an authentic feel Salute

Opponent Wanted  RE: Forgotten Battles Tournament
Dan Caviness and Mark Outlaw Josey Wales have completed their assignment Petri!

My brave Poles ran off the map to a major victory.
We did shoot back once or twice, but mostly we ran...Scared

If I was giving the scenario designer advice, I would suggest he fix the Poles turn 1 to give the Russians a chance to at least get in those woods and try to interdict the exit hexes. Or another minor tweak of his choice to make the Poles fight.

Still an enjoyable scenario.

I am ready (and I assume Mark as well) for my next assignment.

Regards,

Dan...Shocked...Flame...Salute6
