RE: Maintain active status
Ok, although I'm really not looking at a comeback.
I'm still burned out by what Vesku did to me in the tourney.
I had him dead to rights. At loooong last. He was defendin Gottenberg with the normal Germany mix of Leos and a mech Company, backed up with 155 ICM.
I talked High Command into getting up off a Polish Para Regiment reinforced with a Soviet Air Mobile Company. Plus a speztna company and half a dozen SEAD fighter.
I had him playing wack-a-mole with my Paras. The weapons platoon of the air mobile coy was set up on some hills on the edge of the map and as he clanked from flag to flag, I would pick off Leo's. Then after slaughtering his infantry, take back the flag. We were on turn 25 of 30 when the game closed. He had all the flags but he had all thee flags from turn one until I captured one. It did not fit the conditions for a forced close, since I had my A0 safe and two platoons of air mobile that had not even been engaged yet. I was saving them for last turn heroics.
Not sure how Vesku got the game to force close but it happened. It upset me. To the point where I haven't played since. So now there is a new release and I'm going to give it a try. I thought 7.0 was the worst since 3.5

RE: Maintain active status
I had a lot of work last year and had to leave the tournament.
I reappeared recently. It always comes back :)

So who is winning? I thought at the time that if I could break it open with the Paras, the Soviets had an advantage. If they didn't waste it on a general push across the line.
Soviet forces were built to exploit holes blasted in a line by arty. To work best they have to get far enough into the rear of NATO to go like 'ell. If the Soviets play patty cake in front of the NATO lines, NATO's superior weapons will slaughter them. NATO was making road blocks then murdering the Soviets when they piled up on the road block. That is why I wanted the Paras. I had No, none, zero armor.
So Vesku had nothing to shoot at. My paras dropped onto his positions so if he used his ICM, it would kill him too. My access to the pact section was cancelled so I don't know if they took advantage of the hole or not.

If you do not have a partner yet, I will be available from the end of this week. You can set up something. I will play with any side any year.

Kewl. Will you freak out if I send Swiss vs France? Or maybe Italy vs Spain?
I once re-did Crecy in 1946, I think. I'll pick a time and sides then you can choose one. Like when your mom made you cut the cake but gave your brother first choice of cuts.
Let me think on this and I'll send you choices late Tomorrow.

OK, I put together a start. It is Dec. '71 and India and the Paki's are slugging it out. 6,000 points each, no points per turn, contry training set to 60. It is on a custom map. Fair warning, I made the map. It was back in the 90's for a tourny and I really don't remember anything about it. There are two of them. Together they are the terrain for the armored drive by India that captured 60,000 Paki soldiers and brought the Paki's to the table. I worked from on-line maps and it is as accurate as hexes allow. One of the Swinging Swedes help me.
My other suggestion is Iran/Iraq in May of '82. That was the high water mark for Iraq. After that It was pretty much defend against the hordes.
What ever your pleasure is.
Since I have been in remission on SP, I'm not up to date on what is normal or not in PBEM now-a-days. I set Country training at 60 toi avoid fighting a host of Chuck Norris types. Before he goes to sleep, the boogieman checks under his bed to make sure Chuck Norris isn't there.
So if there is anything you want or need as far as variables let me know. I will try and figure out how to get your E-mail. if I don't have it.
Please let me know if your OK with the Paki-India, you would rather the Iran-Iraq, or something else entirely.
