Schönebeck 1945

Schönebeck 1945
I'm looking for a brave opponent for a big PBEM battle.

Sides: US 2nd Armored Division vs the German Infanterie-division Scharnhorst and Sturmgeschützbrigade 1170
Map: Schönebeck, on the Elbe river, Germany. (Map size 200x160)
Date: April 13, 1945
Battle Points: US Army 4 000 vs Germany 3 000
Air: US 0 vs Germany 02

Situation: South of Magdeburg the experienced American 2nd Armored Division has managed to capture an intact bridge across the Elbe river, near Schönebeck. The US player must now establish a bridge-head on the eastern side of the Elbe. Meanwhile the recently formed German Scharnhorst Division, supported by the Sturmgeschützebrigade 1170, is sent to counterattack and throw the Americans back across the river...

Lack of usable forward airfields for the allies cause an unusual situation where the Americans must operate without air support, while the hard pressed Luftwaffe can scrap together a few machines and throw them against what seems to be an allied advance on Berlin...

I'll set it up and can play either side...

RE: Schönebeck 1945
In that case I'm interested as a player for Germany, I prefer historical scenarios or setups over random Blue vs Red games but I don't have much PBEM experience I hope that is OK for you.

Where can I find the map? Doesn't seem to come with the game nor with the patch.

Is there any TOE & OOB we could/should use to form the forces or are players free to buy what they want?

I was hoping we could draw the bulk of the forces from the US 2nd Arm Div and the German Scharnhorst/StuG-Brigade 1170...

...that said if you'd want to play something smaller that's ok with me.

I have the map.

No need for something smaller, I like if we could pull the troops from the original forces, that saves me the headache of deciding what to buy.

Game files have been sent.

The setup favours the US Army player - if you wish to play a mirror game, or something where the German player has the edge let me know... Smile

...i.e. a game where the German player has the advantage...
