Me to, but as I couldn't remember were I bought the game, then it turned out my wife had bought it as a present with her bank card, hpssims support were able to find her details on their records after several emails.
Look I am not a lawyer but this is the same person selling the same games with a new company after a alledged business altercation, and as I have the HPSSIMS version of the games I am being discriminated against.
I went to watch ice hockey match once and I didn't like it, much prefer football, each to his own.

Though his posts were not the most articulate, his point is valid.
If he buys from JTS, he can download a patch at any point.
If he has bought a game from HPS in the past, he either has to hope that (usually with a significant delay) a game is updated or he has to e-mail someone to get the patch.
Though I do not suffer from this problem as I'm relatively new to John Tiller games and have only purchased from JTS, the way customers have to obtain patches from HPS isn't customer friendly.
Considering that the differences between the versions are described as minor, I don't see why updates can't be provided for the HPS version instead of hundreds of people having to e-mail Rich Hamilton all the time to obtain something that is there (otherwise updates couldn't be given to those who e-mail customer support, after all), but which is for some peculiar reason not available on the HPS website.
I have only praise for the actual customer support given, but the hoops people have to jump through to get a patch for HPS titles are not encouraging. If this is caused by the combat residue of mister Tiller now selling through his self-named company and leaving HPS's distribution channels, it's harming legitimate customers.
Incidentally, this is one of the problems with Digital Download services that make part of the community wary of dealing with them: the moment support is dropped and moved elsewhere, it becomes difficult or impossible to obtain the latest version of a product you paid for.

RE: France '14 update 1.06 now available!
2 things in response to the general comments, and in particular one of ComradeP's.
First, for the Digital Download comment, this has absolutely nothing to do with that area. Most of these games were sold originally as disk only, and it is strictly a question of getting patches for the HPS version. Digital Download is a whole different ball of wax, the orange to the update "apple" problem.
As to the problems with the HPS updates. I can't explain why it is an issue, as it makes absolutely no sense to me that this is occurring - and I am not aware that JTS spun off due to conflicts with HPS - I gathered at the time that there was little interest on the HPS side in publishing more games, but I don't even know why I got that very vague impression. Definitely never heard a story about it, and for a long time after HPS did update their site with patches fairly quickly after JTS turned them over.
I can't tell if some are getting HPS patches from Rich, or it is strictly a switch to the JTS version for those that show they own the HPS version. If anyone has unreleased patches to HPS versions please feel free to post that you have it and let people contact you for the patch, if you don't mind sending it out. If the issue is strictly about getting a switch to the JTS version, well I don't know how that is discrimination or anything else. HPS is legally liable for those games, and this strikes me as JTS going above and beyond to try and keep those owners happy. Not sure what level of hoops would make people feel better, a free grab bag for anyone? Anyway, seems like the issue is on the HPS side, completely - I know JTS is, or at least was, providing patches to HPS that were never shared - and I would guess JTS can't host them directly.

Gentlemen,
All John Tiller games will be updated through the JTS site going forward. There will be no further updates issued through HPS. It's been about 6 years since the last game was released through HPS. If you purchased direct through HPS I can easily validate your order through the database. Other sources can be validated by an order email, or failing that a simple picture of the game cd you own.
Conversion - you simply apply the update off the JTS site to your existing game install, then enter the serial number you will be provided with when prompted.
We're a tiny development house with limited resources. We currently have 80 titles published that we support, with 60+ of those being originally released through HPS Simulations. Maintaining two versions of each update for 60+ games is a pretty big task and to a certain extent removes resources from other things that need done. And given our practice of supporting our games for well over a decade, through multiple Microsoft OS releases, video card changes requiring code updates and so on, we need to make the process as manageable as possible. This gives us a streamlined support system and allows us to ensure our customers needs are met for the long haul.
Regards,
Rich

RE: France '14 update 1.06 now available!
Look I don't want to cause a tsunami or tread on anybody's toes.
As I'm in my twilight years I don't PBEM anymore so I don't have any problems with compatibility of versions, however I enjoy playing campaigns against a strong advantage AI.
Looking at the list I wanted the France'14 1.06a patch for my ongoing HPSSIMS game.
This as you know fixed a lot of graphic glitches which did not show up on screen, such as blown bridges at max 2D view etc.
Another game patch NRC 1.09 which was well overdue would be welcome for my HPSSIMS version but I don't think I'II ever have the time to fully appreciate the beast.
All my other games HPSSIMS and Mr John Tiller download versions are all patched to the latest versions.
Finally here is a example of different version of a game, but it's only my opinion.
1 War in the Pacific DOS version
2 War in the Pacific Windows version
3 War in the Pacific Admirals Edition

Could someone please consider making posts #53 and #54 on this thread a sticky on all firing line forums containing HPSSIMS content.

Would someone please make this post a sticky on all the forums with HPS game content or should I say Mr John Tiller games content.
Disregard my previous request on post #56.
