mines and isolation

Quick query - do non- engineer units in minefields automatically become isolated?

User manual:

page 24:

By default, a minefield blocks Supply through that hex.

My experience indicates:

A unit moves into the minefield and it does not show isolation. If it stays in the minefield, it will be isolated in the next turn. My interpretation is that the isolation is the result of the next supply determination.
