Hexes & Hexsides
Hi All,

We, at Wargame Design Studio, posted our latest blog entry today on this link;

http://www.wargamedesignstudio.com/2017/...he-future/

Phoenix from the forum here had a number of queries around hexes and hexsides - particularly was he unhappy with the current look.

Here is some visual examples of what is possible;

This shot is what was shown in the blog post and includes both Jison type hex boundaries and the default hexsides on (all pictures can be viewed full size by right clicking on it and opening in a new tab);

Here is the same shot with the default hexsides off and the Jison hex type boundaries;

Here is the same shot with the included 'no hex type' boundary. Note no boundary and no 'starburst in the middle of each hex;

And finally here is the same shot modded to exclude the elevation hexsides, emulating a 'flat' map. Easily done if desired;

Hope that clears this perennial question up...

I really like the 'no hex type' boundary map!  Smile

Elevations are discernible "at-a-glance" and the hexes are "less crowded" with no boundaries and no 'starburst' shapes.

My least favorite is the 'flat' map. It reminds me of those old SPI paper maps.
