Minsk '44 Gold Campaign-Brian Jennings scenario
Hello all...I'm just starting the new Brian Jennings Campaign scenario in the Gold version, and I love the strategy options portion-but could not find a scenario notes file that details the plus/negatives of choosing the different options...am I missing them?

If not, any help out there to understand the impacts of my choices as the German player? Turn 1 gives me choices and I hate to make uninformed decisions?!

Cheers, J

RE: Minsk '44 Gold Campaign-Brian Jennings scenario
I was going to write some notes but the game was released before I had a chance.

At the beginning of their first turn the Germans are given three options two of which give them either early arrival of reinforcements or extra reinforcements, the third is the historical reinforcements. If the German player chooses one of the non-historic options he must inform the Soviet player, but does not need to say which option he has chosen.

At the beginning of their second turn if the German player has chosen one of the non-historic options the Soviets can take one of their strategy options. If they don't at the end of the game shift the result by one level, ie a minor victory becomes a major victory.

Hope this explains how this works.

Do you want a game?

Hi Brian,

Thanks for the reply!! This helps me understand the options better.

I've just started a game with an opponent, and I wanted to know what the options entailed. Thanks for letting me know, and I will share the info with my opponent.

Cheers, J

I strongly recommend people have a look at Brian’s scenario if you like Minsk. He has modelled in more depth the partisan war and added touches such as logistical and battle HQs for certain formations. A lot of thought has gone into his work and we were more than happy to include it.

Hey Jon:  Smoke7

It would be helpful and informative to other players if you and / or your opponent write detailed comments in the scenario database on play balance and game dynamics following the conclusion of your match.   Smile

Also, has this scenario been entered into the Blitz database?  Idea2

I could not find it.

Mike I don't have the title to gather the info to enter the scenario into the DB, if that can be provided I would be happy to add it.  Wink

Hey Darran:  Smoke7

Here's the title:

0623_02: Operation Bagration

File name: #0623_02_Minsk_CG_Alt.scn

Minsk, June 23rd 1944: After some small "recces in force" the day before, the Soviets launched Operation "Bagration", an all-out offensive to crush the salient of AG Center. The fortified cities of Vitebsk, Orsha, Mogilev, and Bobruysk were all encircled by pincer movements, then the Soviet armor and mechanized formations swept on towards the west. Taken by surprise, the majority of the German 4th and 9th Armies were trapped between Minsk and the Berezina River. So complete was the victory, where the Soviets had amassed overwhelming superiority particularly in armor and aircraft, that five weeks later the Soviets were on the banks of the Vistula and the borders of East Prussia.
