I believe there's quite a few Running* animations missing from the West Front folder, given how it seems most every nation from East Front appears there as well.
What you could do is to copy all Running* files from East Front, and paste them to West Front. Thus any missing animations would be added.
The game probably crashed during the artillery phase as some of the Hungarian infantry units suffered a Retreat die roll, and the game could not find the relevant animation.
Resolve then, that on this very ground, with small flags waving and tinny blasts on tiny trumpets, we shall meet the enemy, and not only may he be ours, he may be us. --Walt Kelly
