New scenario for PB Kursk: #0714_02 Pravorot: The Last Chance
Hi everyone, Alan sent me a new scenario he's prepared for Panzer Battles Kursk as part of the set of scenarios he's been working with around Kursk.
Here's the briefing:
#0714_02 Pravorot: The Last Chance
Pravorot, South of Prokhorovka, July 14th, 1943 (Scenario Size: Division, German Human vs Soviet AI or Head to Head)
With the LAH and Totenkopf SS Panzergrenadier Divisions severely depleted from the previous three days of combat and on the defensive, it was now Das Reich's turn to try and take Prokhorovka. The division had suffered he fewest casualties on the 12th and its front was relatively quiet on the 13th. On the 14th it was ordered to attack east with the initial objective being the town of Belenikhino and its train station, then proceed northeast to Hill 217.3, then from there proceed to the final objective of the day, the town of Pravorot. The 167th Infantry Division to its right was to launch supporting attacks to keep Russian units to the south from reinforcing the fight to the north.
The attack started at 6:00AM with units from the "Deutschland" SS Panzergrenadier Regiment leading the way, and by noon the initial objectives had been captured. The attack then bogged down all afternoon, finally resuming about 5:00 PM, this time with tank support from the "Das Reich" SS Panzer Regiment. By 10:00PM the division had taken Hill 217.3 but was too exhausted to continue the attack into the night towards Pravorot, despite being ordered to by the II SS Panzer Corps. The attack would be resumed the following morning.

If you spot anything peculiar let me know. Unfortunately I don't own the Kursk game myself so there might be some errors in the scenario entry, for instance.

Is that the only one or have there been others in the past while I was out from the stroke?

Yes, Alan's done a few other PB Kursk scenarios as well. Do a "Search Scenarios" with Panzer Battles as Ladder and "Arvold" as author, that's the easiest way to list them.
Edit: As in: Go to Scenarios page from main menu, select Search Scenarios from there, and in the search form, select Panzer Battles from the Ladder dropdown list, and enter "Arvold" as author. Result page shows you a neat list of all scenarios he's done:

Battle Kat,
Do you have contact details for Alan?
I'm preparing an update for Kursk and wanted to check if he has any issue us vetting his scenarios for inclusion in the patch?
If he doesn't want the included no issue, but he has done some interesting work.

David, did you receive my PM with Alan's email address, I was emailing him with other matters and he mentioned you had not yet contacted him. He's good to have his scenarios included, and if you have any questions about them just ask him!

Apologies to both yourself and Alan. Yes, all received.
I have been fully engaged on another project and hadn’t had a chance to follow up.
Will be doing that in the next week...

RE: New scenario for PB Kursk: #0714_02 Pravorot: The Last Chance
Hi David, I got one more PB Kurks situation from Alan, one that has not so far been uploaded. It covers the battle for the Hill 235.3:
--
Hill 235.3 The Next Day
Alan R. Arvold
Krasnyi Oktabri, West of Prokhorovka, July 13th, 1943. (Scenario
Size: Division, German Human vs Soviet AI or Head to Head) The
Totenkopf Panzer Regiment managed to reach the Prokhorovka-Kartashevka
Road around sunset on the day before. But the long German finger-size
saliant was stretched to its limit, with only a company size
element on or about the road, and the rest of the panzer regiment,
as well as the attached panzer-grenadier battlaions, occupying
both sides of the saliant. Facing a total Russian force of over
twice their size, the Germans concentrated on defending the gains
that they have made the day before as they had no hope of fulfilling
their assigned mission of turning east and heading towards Prokhorovka.
The Russians for their part, had the mission of pushing back
the German saliant, with the primary objective of capturing HIll
226.6 and if possible, the German crossing points on the Psel
River. It would be a long and bloody day.

Ask for a copy once you contact him, or PM me for an email addy of yours I can send it to!
Regards Petri
