Help  Anyone know why an opponent would get an error?
I am trying to test a PBEM scenario I made for my mod, a part of the battle of Hannut. I can start it, send it to my opponent, he gets an error to open it? Two guys on my team can open the PBEM fine, two others can't, any ideas? We even tried to zip it, to no avail. sucks there is no error logging in this series, would really help.

EDIT-problem resolved. Opponent was running a different version of the mod!

Is everyone using the same mod version with all of the required files like .pdt .scn .oob, etc?

Hi Chad, yes, that is the weird thing about it!! They can open and play it solo, but if either I or they start and send it for H2H, we get an error. Can't figure it out.

I have had this happen a few times in SB PBEM, winding back to an earlier turn is the only way I have resolved it. I recall advice to zip turn files in order to protect them from becoming corrupted when emailing but i was never sure if that was sound technical advice or an just old cyberwives tale. Wink

Am pretty sure they were using the Pacific War version of the mod I was doing for a little while because of the dates. Switched back to AOTR version because one can change the dates easily in notepad when designing a scenario.

We tried zipping too, then on a whim I threw the bte file in my PacWar version and it opened! Trying to instruct the fellow on how to get a clean copy of the mod going, he threw it in stock AOTR and opened it, but no graphics, a start, no graphics because the database/graphics have expanded exponentially since the vanilla version!
