Moral checks
The Gettysburg v3.0 manual says:

"When a unit suffers casualties due to combat, it will take a Morale Check to see if it Routs or becomes Disrupted at the end of the Phase."

Will a unit really check every time it takes a single casualty? No difference wether a 700 men unit suffers 1 casualty or a 50 men unit suffers 25 casualties?

This will lead to shooting units one by one and not concentrating fire on one unit, so all units with a single casualty will have to check morale.

This seems very gamey.

I believe the math always applies:  "When a unit suffers casualties due to combat Morale Checks may be
applicable. This is determined based on a probability using the given loss as: loss / (loss + 25)"

So shooting many times at a unit and inflicting a 1 man loss would give you several poor chances at a disruption or rout, whereas concentrated fire, increasing casualties, will give you less but better chances.

Thanks. I forgot about the loss / (loss + 25) rule.

RE: Moral checks
Suggest you download the updated manuals, you'll find a clarification on the Morale Check test and other tests.

Firing multiple units at once does not increase the effectiveness of fire.
Each unit's fire result is handled separately then the total casualties and
fatigue are added together and the losses displayed. However, there are
some advantages to firing stacked units.
● Firing multiple units at once in Turn Mode does reduce the chance for
return fire as Opportunity Fire by the AI can be triggered each time you
fire. So firing multiple units at once provides only one chance for return
fire by the AI.
● Firing stacked units also results in all the casualties being added together
before checks are made for whether or not a unit will check morale (see
Morale) and whether or not guns are destroyed (see Combat Results) or
crews are killed (see Uncrewed Artillery and Recrewing).
