My biggest hardest pipedream!
A full scale Operation Barbarossa PzC game. I know it will be absolutely unplayable, but EVERYONE will want to buy it @ $99.99.

RE: My biggest hardest pipedream!
LOL!!
Now that sounds wonderful. I think I might buy it just to see it!
But the map has to be from Murmansk all the way to Baku and the Caucasus Mountains plus Germany and the Balkans all the way to the Ural Mountains!
Who know we may have the makings of a monster.

Even better incorporate full scale logistical rules ala CNA.

There could be sub-maps for Crimea, Baku, and Murmansk with transfer boxes. Where there is a will there is a way! (who said that?) jonny

A hereditary game! Begin at age 25, pass it on to your heir sometime in 1942, then his heir can play 1943, and your great-grandson might just be able to finish the war!

(07-30-2021, 12:03 PM), again you have to be into it and your opponent Sir John Cope Wrote: A hereditary game! Begin at age 25, pass it on to your heir sometime in 1942, then his heir can play 1943, and your great-grandson might just be able to finish the war!
Funny! But it's not that impossible. France 1914 (F 14) German side, has about 35% of Barbarossa; or seven armies of c. 1,200,000 men and 5,000 guns. Once you get into it, you can make a German move in 2-3 hours. Barbarossa would be a lot more complicated but, and you have to be into it and your opponent as well, and commit to keep the game moving: but maybe a week to make a move, or 6 full moves per month; considering that you have to have a real life as well (some of us don't I suspect). So let's say 50-100 turns a year (minimum) or 7-10 days (June 22-to July 1); so a ten year commitment would maybe get you to September/October?

True, I was joking - but you're right that, as monster games go, this one would certainly be a very big monster, but not Godzilla.

Also I might add that this game should be Barbarossa, not the whole war. And it might go much faster since early on lots of Russian units would be fixed. As for ladder points they could be given out without ending the game like, for example, upon the fall of Smolensk, or upon certain other dates Victory Points could be awarded. Maybe it would be possible to reach August-September after only a couple of years play and at that point a winner declared, with lots of ladder points.
