Very true, but sometimes the balance of a scenario is just bad, and one side is clearly not enjoying the play. Would you not agree that negotiations are in order at that point?

Sometimes it's disappointing when a plan gels and you're on the way to defeating an opponent in detail and the other guy surrenders, but I've been in that position and surrendered myself. Gets right down to it, these games are supposed to be fun, and when the writing is on the wall in big, bold-faced capital letters and the thrill is gone, there's nothing wrong with an honorable capitulation and moving on to a new game, IMHO.

Players burnout when their opponents want the full pound of flesh and some more to save for the future.
I've resigned a few in my days of play. I've also accepted resignations.
I even stopped playing someone when he refused to accept my resignation. I could never understand why he wanted to wipe all my units from the map.
