2.02 Update

Hi all,

My girlfriend is interested in playing JTCS. I installed JTCS via the disk, but I'm not sure how to get the 2.02 Update so we can play together. Can anyone help?

If she likes it, I'm hoping that eventually I can get her to join the Blitz ;) If that happens, DO NOT go easy on her; she is an assassin.

Hi Schwerpunkt75,

If you go over to the Matrix site. At the top click on Store. Under search put in John Tiller's Campaign Series. It will pull the game up and it says it's like $9.90 and 67% off.

If you click the picture on the left that says Campaign Series, it will pull up the game page with a few screenshots of the game. If you scroll down a bit, the 2.02 update is there. I just saw it.

If you click on it, it will download in a zip file. In the zip is the 2.02 executable.

For CS play , especially to work that Select the game menu ( EF , WF, RS )
MUST HAVE the MS file  vcredist_x86.exe

Download that file - install/execute.

And do get the 2.02 Update on the Matrix site - per Big Ivan

It may be a while before she's ready to take on a game here, but she's EXTREMELY competitive.

Installed CS on a new computer for girlfriend and downloaded 2.02.

But when we try to select WF, EF or RS, nothing opens. Is this what you're referring to re: vcredist_x86.exe?

If so, how do I get this file, and how/where do I install and execute it?

Ya - I shortchanged on the complete info - my error.

That file is a Microsoft executable that is obtained from them.
You just do a search for it - you'll get it somehow.
It is the essential to run the " PLAY " selection options - as you've learned.
Pertinent for the old CS game v2.02.

(IT IS NOT needed for the CS Middle East 1948-1985 game. Mr. Petho has it coded
very well.)

Anyhow - you guys are up and running - wunderbar!

I'd play that gal for her practice sessions , when she's ready for it.
She has a good manager in her corner !
