Great Northern War Mod for Campaign 1776

Way back in the 2000’s I remember seeing and picking up a Great Northern War mod  for 1776 on this site. I got rid of it at some point but now that the map editor for the series has been released wondered if anybody still had a copy they could let me have as I had wondered about looking at how easy it would be to do some more scenarios for it.

The designer (who’s name I unfortunately don’t remember) had done a really nice job on the unit graphics and had small a working scenario up and running ?

No luck in tracking this one down I am afraid. However, now that it’s possible to make maps for the games in this series it would be quite straightforward to use them to build make over mods company level actions for wars in the horse and musket era.

When I have the time, which is possibly not until I retire, I have a number of ideas I would like to explore here, such as using the French and Indian War game to build a mod to cover the Third Battle of Panipat and the Mexican-American War title to build a mod covering the 1st Carlist war.

The 7 Years War would be a great base for making mods covering the Great Northern War.

I always hoped (or wished rather) JTS would make a game covering either the Great Northern War or the Scanian War of 1675 - 1679, or why not the 30 Years War. Well one can only hope that WDS might some day. Or some modder manages it.

Thanks, Dave! But no. That's not it. That's a mod for a completely different game sadly.

Very interesting but not quite what I thought it was although things may have moved on since I say the nod. I know of the Napoleon in Russia project (although I never got any of its mods working on my PC and the other modder who built a while series of mods on an early version of Campaign Eckmuhl including some topics not touched by HPS/JTS/WDS like the Egyptian Campaign and the Russo Polish War of 1830. (which I did get working) The GNW war mod I remember was built in Campaign 1776.

However it looks as if there has been quite a lot of work on these projects since last time a looked at them and its possible that some projects have been merged.

To bad that that Great Northern War mod is 2D only. That's a deal breaker for me.
