RE: F 40 Gold attack value question
I am not a designer on F40, but know a bit about the weapons. First, a 150 mm mortar is massive. The French 150 was a 1917 design. Its sustained rof over longer periods was 2, maybe 3 rounds per minute, 4 in bursts. No idea how good its shell was, including whether they were still 1917 shell tech.
Most 80 mm mortars could do burst of 30 rounds per minute, and 15 to 20 sustained.
So I can easily see the 80 being higher than the 150. The ratings aren't per shell but total rounds on target (so accuracy matters) so there can be a lot of variability.
