Napoleonic Battles 4.01 Updates
Wargame Design Studio proudly continues the precedent set by John Tiller of continually supporting games once we have published them, for free to existing customers. Today we have released the 4.01 Updates for the entire 15 games in the Napoleonic Battles series. There is some variation from title to title in what was done, but this is a major update across the line.
We have just published our latest Blog post detailing many items that are included in this round of updates, blog post linked below.

Great!
I just hope we will get an updated version of the Ferraris MOD for it.

In the updated version, I notice there is a button to toggle "Carnage." What is that about?

Toggle Carnage – toggle the display of dead and wounded on the map in 3D mode.

As a big fan of the whole series, I am almost speechless in seeing firsthand what the new 2D graphics look like, as saying "wow" would be a major understatement.
In my option, this may be the best Nap unit art work, map graphics, map counters, and unit & info boxes, etc. that I have ever seen with this series.
Super awesome job to all of those with WDS who worked on this.
Thank You!

What a wonderful job Gentlemen.
I feel reinvigorated even at 75, so much so I may dip my toe in "Matchmaker" waters

Glad you all like it...more work is happening too, so eventually you'll see more re-done Units.bmp files as well as new 3D icons for the older games.

RE: Napoleonic Battles 4.01 Updates
Played a Waterloo scenario vs. the AI over the weekend and I have to say this is the first time I've really enjoyed it. The graphics are great, I felt it was much easier to understand what I was looking at. And since my brain is still trained for PzC hot keys, the new tool bar was greatly appreciated - I couldn't stand that old tool bar! A few more of these and I might be ready to dip my toes in a PBEM. Great job WDS!

RE: Napoleonic Battles 4.01 Updates
There seems to be some issue with the latest updates, from the "Hex!" discord:

Idk if i got something wrong but i got a btl not bte.
Shows a lot of the examples, a unit that isn't detached when it should, a unit that is detached when it shouldn't be.
You can get the not detached unit (south) to become detached by walking it into the forest.(which will disorg it) As for a general description:
Detachment of units does not update reliably, meaning they usually keep their current status of being detached or not even when it should change. My standing theory is that if a unit's condition changes(it becomes disorganized or routed) then it recalculates that status. But that also means if a unit re-organizes itself while outside of command range you won't be able to get it attached again(outside of intentionally disrupting it while inside command range).
...

The problem is identified. A fix is under development.
