RE: World War One Mod!
To start this mod,
which ".exe" do I click?
I clicked on "World War One.exe" and nothing happened ,
then I clicked on "ww1.exe" and I got an error message "Failure to create bitmap surface C:\WINDOWS\System32\Roads1d.bmp" ,and I get a whole heap of these failures for individual bmps. Finally I got game to start sort of ,basically white screen with menu bar down the bottom.
My MCS is current version 2 I assume.
It works great any other way I have tried with it.
I put the "WW1 v1.1" folder in "John Tiller's Campaign Series" where it coinhabits with West and East Front for example.
The ".exes" were from the "WW1 v1.1" folder .

World War One.exe. Works for me and I unzipped it and put it in the same place. I made shortcuts on my desktop, but that shouldn't matter. Maybe try deleting it and reinstalling? All I can tell you is it works. It's a fun game using the old Talonsoft engine. The scenarios are pretty good. I play it routinely against my brother, PBEM.

RE: World War One Mod!
I did as you said.
I reinstalled the mod .
It works now.
I just generated a random battle ,which is my preferred way to play.
It works all OK now.
I made a shortcut as well for desktop for "World War One.exe" and this worked well.
Thanks for your reply.

RE: World War One Mod!
The mod works vanilla for me but-
I wanted to modify the main.pdt and then play this mod.
I made a shortcut and added -X like I do with west front for example (there I run the wf.exe with -X and my modified main.pdt works good).
However here it does not seem to work.
I modified the ww1.exe shortcut with -X.
I assume the World War One.exe ,would not accept my -X since in West Front only wf.exe will accept it ,not West Front.exe .As outlined in this topic ,
https://www.theblitz.club/message_boards...?tid=75054
I know my little change to main.pdt did not work since I made the 4th line read
3 24 12 6 rather than 6 24 12 6 ,
which should mean I can only have 3 units per hex.
And I can have more.
Can I use a modified main.pt here?

RE: World War One Mod!
Seems like this is not possible.
I tried a new encrypted .pdx for the current game version and that still did not let me play with my altered .pdt for this mod. It is because the mod does not use the current game version.
Mod works vanilla and looks cool.
I will get used to it playing with the standard .pdt .
