RE: 1914 Valour - FWWC Tournament Round 2
Having been one to voice there should be enough time to finish games on time in case of a contingency, I have absolutely no problem with the tourney leader advancing the start time of the next round when all members have completed the present round. Wise minds offered that another big problem with tourneys is that players lose interest as time drags and results are not reported. Would it not be possible to start the next round as soon as everyone has reported results? It might even be fun to build an small incentive into finishing early, perhaps an extra point  to each team member for every three days that the game was completed before deadline up to a three point total, or some such gimmick. ( I did not put much thought into incentive) That might address the problem of players losing interest and speed the tourney along without penalizing players with real life problems. Just a suggestion

This goes for all tourneys.

RE: 1914 Valour - FWWC Tournament Round 2
The start time for the next round has already been moved closer to the final reported results compared to the initial rounds.

In this case, this thread appeared within a day of the final result being reported, and we now have a day to get in touch with our opponent.

I don't think starting today would offer an in-game advantage, so I don't mind anyone starting the round one day early if they can reach their opponent today.

Maybe I jumped the gun by starting the round before the originally scheduled date. I just wanted to move things along. I'll leave the new Round 2 timings as is, but if there are concerns I am happy to extend the end of Round 2 to the original end date.

The prize fund is for the year 2025, so if possible I'd like to get the tournament over before the year ends, but it's not a big deal if we go a few days into 2026.

Just to clarify: I only meant to say that you got things going again very quickly, after the latest results for the previous round were reported. About as close as possible to "as soon as everyone has reported results" which Partizanka mentioned.

I think that's a good thing. This way we also buy some time should any other round last a bit longer.

I am fine with it. That was what prompted my post, thinking an incentive might even make things go faster.
