REGISTRATION OPEN : It’s a Long Way to Tipperary WDS Tiller PzC Tournament

Before you register, please read the following:

Registration closes no later than February 28, 2025, 2359PST.

There will be six rounds with 1, small or small medium, scenario selected from each of the titles, below. The games will be approximately 30 turns with 2 sets of night turns.

You must own the games selected for the scenarios. If you won’t or can’t purchase these games, then do not enter this tournament. The scenarios selected for each round will follow this order, so you might want to wait before buying missing games during the WDS sales, Game of the Week, summer, or winter sales. Don’t purchase any games until I finalize the scenarios; I will let you know before the tournament begins, but you will not know the scenario until the round begins.

This tournament will start as soon as registration is complete, and will be approximately 600 days long: 6 * 30 * 3 days + 6 * 10 days = 600 days. Based on previous tournaments no one has complained that 3 days per turn + 10 days us too short for completing a scenario. This tournament will likely end late in 2026 or early 2027.

All entrants are eligible for a random draw at the end of the tournament. If you drop out you will not be eligible for the draw. If someone drops out and you volunteer to drop out to even the number of entrants, you will still be eligible for the draw.

Do not enter if you are not committed to the tournament! One purpose of this tournament is to meet other players and log some PBEM games at theblitz.club. Join the tournament in this spirit. 

You must start the scenarios with the latest patch available at the start of the round. If you have a long-term campaign game with one of the titles started with a back-level version level, you might have to install two different versions. Do not enter this tournament if you are not prepared to maintain 2 installations.

As the tournament title and time estimates suggest, this is a long-haul tournament. It will test your skills! It’s a Long Way to Tipperary.

I suspect some entrants with a preference for Allies may have to take the Axis side, but we will cross that trench when we close the registration. I will do my best to select scenarios that balance attacking and defensive roles for each team.

Latest entrant list. We can use 1 more entrant to even it out at 16.

I have selected 6 scenarios which I think will give both teams some interesting problems to solve, with balanced attacking and defending roles. The size of all scenarios have a consistent SM rating (see theblitz.club scenario database for info on the rating) with the exception of one scenario. The title did not have a suitable 30 turn scenario so I selected an interesting shorter scenario and a smaller SM rating. Please note that, while these are not huge scenarios, the scenarios are approximately at least twice the size of scenarios in the previous tournaments. I am being vague on the above so that no one can try to deduce which scenarios will be used in the tournament.
