Fritz closed the top hatch of his Panther as mortar rounds started to fall.
"The Amis are getting desparate." he thought. All of a sudden the cannon was fired. A light tank burst into flames on the outskirts of Weyer. "Hold your fire, Gunther! Don't bother with those little panzers, watch for those damn tank destroyers." Luckily, no M10s emerged from hiding.

Weyer was almost completely surounded now. Stubborn American engineers fought to keep the town in Allied hands. A company of M4 Shermans sent to bolster the defenses had been decimated. Was victory at hand????
