Moving south, Sgt Warner's Bradley crew where the first to regain contact with the Bundeswehr troops to the south. Driving along a side road Warner was surprised to be flagged down by a short and somewhat stocky German captain who however spoke excellent English. The captain informed Warner that a heavy concentration of Soviet tanks and BTRs had hit his Battalion hard. They were in desperate need of help. Right now.
Warner reported his situation to the company commander, then turned to the German officer.
"We'll see what we can do, sir! Where is the enemy?"
Grining the captain pointed south.
