American artillery impacted heavily on Fichtner's troops in the south as they had advanced onto the heights of the river valley and immediately wish they hadn't. Fifteen men were wiped out and the rest left battered and bruised. In the north the newly arrived Jadgpanzers IV's retaliated by eliminating six American Halftracks.

This was a quiet turn as all over the map the Germans struggled forward in the mud, forming up in each sector for a coordinated attack on the American defenses, who had disappeared yet again.

They were out there and no doubt bristling with enthusiasm.
