Gary, there is only one word to describe the OP fire filter..........MONEY!:thumbs_up::thumbs_up::thumbs_up:
The only way it works against you is if you make it. Or..if you don't use it.
A good assesment of the enemy's OOB should reveal any nasty suprises.
You could set some of your tanks min armor engagement criteria to different numbers. IE in a 3 tank platoon 2 tanks to 19 Armor min and one to 2 or 3. You could also set the engagement range to just above the max effective range of the RR equiped nasty. OTOH you would still run into the problem of MG jeeps and RR jeeps found in a lot of Recon units. Or RR equiped OT62s with regular OT-62s.
I haven't figured it all out yet but it seems to be working for me. :)
