Can anybody enlighten me ? Why is the Jagdpanzer IV/70 often called Panzer IV/70 ?

Because somebody said - "Hey let's put a long 75mm L/70 gun on a Pz IV chassis and call it the Pz IV/70"

Later somebody said - "Strictly speaking it's a tank destroyer not a tank, so let's call it the Jagdpanzer IV/70"

But both names stuck.

(PS -The 75 L/70 gun wasn't available at first, so they used the 75 L/48)
