For regular day to day gaming, I would say most of the community feels as you do. For tournaments, it is usually expected to use the File No Save.option. I know I forget to use it in some tournaments, and I don't even bother when the tournament game is against another member I have played before and know I can trust.
That is a pretty long list of quality folks.
