Who has been your hardest opponent?
Hard to give a name: so many good players ! Air Master comes to my mind.
Narwan is the one who impresses me the most by his deep knowledge of the game mechanics. Also, he has the best track record (no loss in 44 games, 17 victories in a row).

How long have you been a member of the Blitz?
Since April 2003.

What War interests you the most?
The Vietnam Wars: how a small and poor country defeated France, US, Cambodia and kept China at bay.

If you could choose to be present at one historical event what would it be?
The life and death of Jesus Christ. Was he just a charismatic man or the son of God ?

What is your favorite War movie?
So many good movies ! ‘Tears of the Sun’, ‘Blackhawk is Down’, ‘The Beast of War’.

What do you snack on while gaming?
Nothing usually.

What is your favorite and least favorite aspect of the Blitz website?
Favorite: the competitive aspect of the Blitz. I know that many players rightfully suggest not to take the Ladder too seriously. But I can’t help loving to climb this Ladder. I regularly look at the stats.
Least favorite: when an opponent sends his turn at too low a pace (less than 3 times / week). A pbem is like music: it needs tempo, momentum, speed. If you wait too much in between turns, the momentum and the spell are broken. For example, you don’t exactly remember where enemy arty landed at the end of your last turn. Better few games at a fast pace than many slow games !

Do you own any war memorabilia?
No.

What is the best military book you have read?
‘The History of the German Army 1939-1945’ by Philippe Masson

What do you think was the single most important event of WWII?
The US discovery of the nuclear bomb. Little mattered Stalingrad: had the allies not succeeded in submitting Germany by conventional weapons, the US would have treated Germany like Japan in August 1945.

What is the most interesting documentary you have ever watched?
Don’t remember the English title but it’s a recent documentary on a well-known Manchester (UK) gangster.

The Operational Art of War

What piece of wisdom would you like to pass on to your fellow Blitz members?
The ‘Serenity Prayer’ that I have just discovered in the movie ‘Mr Brooks’. It is used by the US AA. It goes like this:

God, help me to accept the things that I cannot change,
And to change the things that I can,
