RE: The Biggest Challenge of the 21st century : The battle between POS & ????
:soap: Now I may be being a bit niave here, but how can a scenerio be rigged against you POS when the designers don't know what side you are going to be?

Surely it's simply a case of someone designs a scenerio, they send it to 2 experienced members to check for balance, you then get the OOB and get to decide which side you want to play, and THEN you and your opponent get sent the file. That way neither you or your oppoent knows the battlefield in advance, the scenerio designer has to ensure balance because they won't know what side you are going to pick, AND you get to pick the side. Can't see how you can get fairer than that.

Oh, and by the way, by implying that anyone here would 'cheat' is doing the whole Blitz community a big dis-favour. In my time here the one thing that I can say about the Blitz is that cheating is taken very seriously, (just look at 101Paratrooper for example). If you are playing against another opponent you have to take a lot on trust, (trust that they are going to return moves, trust that they say if they have played a scenerio before, etc). If you are saying that you don't trust the people here well maybe you should go elsewhere.

Actually on that note, you say that 'people' are going to rig the scenerio against you, and in the next breath you say that YOU are going to design a scenerio and then challenge everyone to play you at it. Sorry but how much more rigged a game do you want than one you've designed yourself?!! OK the forces might be balanced but having intimate knowldege of the battlefield and the forces involved is going to give you one hell of an edge against any opponent whose plays it for the first time.

3 losses out of 15 games for YOUR Fireflys vs Tigers scenerio on face value looks reasonably good, but it's YOUR scenerio!!! (This is why it is normal for tourney designers NOT to entire their own tourney if they've designed the scenerios - unfair advantage).

Now unlike some I don't tend to post here very regularly, and I'm a strong believer of the saying, 'empty vessels make the most noise', but hasn't this gone on long enough? Koen asked you a very simple question and has laid out the terms of the challenge, so no trying to change the parameters, no squirming or trying to change the subject; will you taek him up on his challenge or not? Easy, 'Yes' or 'No'?

At the end of the day POS you've got nothing to lose. If you take him up on the challenge on his terms and you win then it will go some way to justifying all those medals that you keep showing for yourself, (not quite sure why you keep showing medals and titles earned elsewhere on this site but hey, I've got a gold medal in swimming but you don't see me showing it here).

If you lose however, (and surely with the stats that you keep telling everyone how can you?) well then you can say that the game was rigged and you were set up to lose.

Looks to me that you are in a win/win situation.

So come on POS, are you going to take up the challenge as it stands or not? Either put up or shut up.
