Wouldn't it be simpler if we just had some sort of system where you could reward one another with some kind of "reputation boost" if you liked the DAR?

So Pete, if you're out of the running for the award, would I still be able to have a DAR of a game against you count for it?

I like the idea. Only potential problem: once people are making DARs in order to win a prize, it sort of kills the innocent fun of the process. For me, doing a DAR is kind of fun just for the heck of it, if I knew there was a real prize at stake, I think I'd be trying harder to be entertaining, and it'd probably end up forced and less entertaining. Something fun about just doing it for the heck of it, and not trying to win something. I know this sort of sounds like the opposite argument I've made on behalf of clickies, but I think for me the difference is something of real value vs. something silly and meaningless. If that makes sense...
