Discovered the magic of Adobe Photoshop & can post images without waiting until Monday.
After another turn of 50mm rain, I see some concrete results. At least one dead mortar, a dead crew that I hope is from a different mortar, and one pinned and crawling squad. I also sent all 3 squads and their HQ to ground with the 50mm barrage farther back and on my left, they all switched to German icons by 0:30 and didn't pop back up. At least one round landed directly on top of each German icon after they went to ground, so hopefully they are good and pinned. I will shift three of my 50mm slightly to a spot where there is a clump of tanks with riders still visible, I will keep one 50mm blasting the infantry farther back on my left, and I will save ammo and hide the remaining 2 50mm mortars this turn.
Mr Y has sent a flanking group of light tanks around towards my left, at least two of them have what appear to be MG riders. Hopefully my 2-squad ambush in the wheatfield will eliminate the MGs before being sent to the Communist Heroes Camp in the sky.
Finally, I have determined to my satisfaction that Mr Y is not sending any significant force along my right flank. I haven't spotted so much as a squad over there. So I will send my T-26 platoon around to the right, and hopefully I will be able to force Mr Y's panzers to present a side shot to one or the other of my tank platoons. I am taking a slightly long and laborious route in order to remain out of LOS as long as possible, otherwise I would probably lose most of my tanks en route to accurate german guns.
Also the red / yellow lines from my BT-7 on the left are residue from the previous turn, the LOS of each is blocked by the hill at the beginning of this turn. My heroic tank crew shrugged off three penetrations by 20mm hits with a slug of vodka and some beef jerky, and they will hunt forward about 10 meters and hopefully drill one of Mr Y's flanking group.
