Foul. Wrote:While i appreciated that "real life" comes before gaming, just disappearing without informing your opponent(s) is the most annoying thing i have experienced at the Blitz in the time i have been here.

A "sorry i cannot continue" email takes about 30 seconds to write and will ensure you can pick up with the same opponents if you return.

While we where not playing a scenario (thank god) i have a policy of never playing a opponent who does this again.

I don't apologise for my strong opinion as this type of behaviour really makes my blood boil.

You shouldn't apologize. While I don't share your feelings quite so strongly, I do get very annoyed when opponents disappear. However, my job, part of which involves aircraft crash investigation, does frequently involve very short notice travel frequently to places with no internet connection (yes, many of those places still exist). I let EVERY opponent know my job situation and that I might disappear without notice for up to 6 weeks. Because of my situation, I guess I'm more tolerant when others disappear so long as they have a decent excuse when they return.

My biggest problem is that my work laptop (which I was forced to take with my 'promotion' in March) absolutely blocks my personal e-mail accounts. I've tried extensively to find a way around this but have failed. It may only take 30 seconds to send out an e-mail saying "sorry, I have to abandon the game", but that assumes access to e-mail to begin with.

I did communicate with most of my opponents and they all said, "no problem, I understand," but I did not anticipate the problems going on for so long.
