ANZAC day in Australia

RE: ANZAC day in Australia
In short, ANZAC Day is our equivalent of the US Memorial Day, and Europeand commemorations based on 11 Nov. It was a good day in Canberra, went with son to the Dawn service -cool, got cold just before dawn, bugler gave THE BEST rendition of the Last Post (Taps in US) I have ever heard, and I've heard a few. Exactly at the end, as if scripted, a couple of kookaburras started up. Beautiful!!

March was great, weather benign, big crowd, lots of marchers, son, daughter -in-law and 9 month old grandson Thomas William Coles aka the WONDERCHILD came out to see Gramps hobble up the hill with his oppos.(Madame KKR is in Ottawa with her sister for a 3 month stay) Everyone wearing the family tinware. Afterwards, a leisurely lunch at the Canberra Club with some great wine and better stories, (some perhaps based on truth) then home to watch Essendon vs Collingwood, only regret being AFL rules do not allow both teams to lose!
You could write a specification for the perfect day-would look a lot like the above !!
